What are the responsibilities and job description for the Farmworkers & Laborers, Crop, Nursery, Greenhouse position at JDuffey Land and Livestock LLC?
We own about 700 acres of irrigated farm land mostly under pivot. We also custom cut rake and bale about 800 additional acres. Crop consists of mostly alfalfa, pecans and small grains. We use later model John Deere and Case IH equipment. Job duties may include and are not limited to tasks such as: apply products such as fertilizers, pesticides, growth inhibitors, etc; attach/detach implements; clean work areas; load and unload materials and commodities; maintain grounds and landscaping; mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter, spreader, sprayer type machinery; operate self propelled machinery; repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; tilling soil, transplanting, weeding, thinning, pruning crops; use hand tools such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, loppers, and knives; use hand tools such as wrenches, crow bars, air tools, electric tools; work in extreme temperatures. Equipment such as but not limited to the following will be used/operated by the workers in conjunction with the duties being performed: bailers and other hay equipment, GPS guidance systems, irrigation equipment, mowers and other landscaping equipment, pickups, cars, etc, self-propelled machinery, skid steers, sprayers, swathers, bailers, and other hay equipment, tillage equipment, tractors. The workers will be performing the duties to help produce: grain sorghum, hay, trees, wheat. Must speak and understand English.
