Your skills will drive efficiency and accuracy in our manufacturing operations, supporting the creation of complex parts with tight tolerances.
Responsibilities
- Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications and machining parameters.
- Basic understanding of geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
- Program Mazak lathes by using Mazatrol software, entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math and geometry.
- Sets-up lathes.
- Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces; adhering to international standards.
- Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
- Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and maintain all equipment, to like new appearance, according to maintenance plans and established procedures.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with co-workers, customers, clients, and management.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
- Implement and maintain LEAN practices to reduce waste and cost.
- Continue to learn and use the tools to identify and assist with continuous improvement.
- Adhere to the continued maintenance of Quality Control along with the most current standards for AS9100 and ISO 9001.
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive and confidential information.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills
- Associate degree (A. A.) from two-year college or technical school; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as portability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Ability to operate a forklift to move, load and unload pallets and material.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
Pay: $25.00 - $34.00 per hour
