Hourly, temporary position responsible for leading an assigned kitchen station during service. Supports daily culinary operations by preparing menu items, maintaining food quality and consistency, and ensuring station readiness. Assists with prep, cleanliness, and teamwork to support efficient kitchen operations and a positive guest experience.
Qualifications:Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must be able to read, understand, and communicate effectively in English
- Be able to maintain complete control of the kitchen at all times in a professional manner that commands the respect of the kitchen staff
- Maintain a level head and delegate kitchen assignments simultaneously
- Experience working in a professional kitchen and running your own section in a kitchen
- A creative interest in food
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to communicate professionally at all times
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills
- Ability to organize and plan your own work and that of others
- Ability to control a budget and work with figures
- Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions
- High standards of cleanliness and hygiene
- Ability to deal calmly with unexpected situations and crises
- Knowledge of kitchen safety rules and procedures
Physical Requirements:
Constant standing, walking, reaching, grasping, smelling, talking, hearing and frequent bending, stooping and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
Work environment is typical of a restaurant kitchen which involves noise, heat, changes in temperature, kitchen elements, odors, moisture, etc. Refrigerated storage areas may be cold.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent certificate
- Current Food Handlers card
- Minimum of one year experience working in a professional kitchen.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
