When a production line halts or a data hall alarms, seconds count. As an Industrial Power Field Technologist with JDC Power Systems, LLC, you’ll be the expert customers rely on to restore stability fast and commission systems that run right from day one.
Your impactYou’ll hunt down root causes across electrical distribution and controls—LV/MV switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, and PLC-controlled processes. You’ll bring systems back within spec, teach operators the essentials, and leave sites safer and more resilient than you found them.
Responsibilities- Perform on-site diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs for power systems and industrial controls.
- Support startups and commissioning activities; validate functionality and compliance with project and customer requirements.
- Interface directly with customers, communicate progress, and provide basic operations and maintenance instruction.
- Produce clear service documentation: test reports, findings, and recommendations; manage time, parts, and on-hand inventory.
- Collaborate with fellow technicians to meet SLAs and leverage remote troubleshooting tools where appropriate.
- Champion safe work practices following OSHA and company standards; complete required safety training and maintain relevant certifications.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in electrical engineering or related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of field service experience with power systems/electrical equipment/industrial controls, including transformers and breakers.
- Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; effective communicator with customers.
- Fluency with field service and ERP software plus Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Self-starter who can prioritize and execute in dynamic environments.
- Added advantage: LV/MV familiarity; foundational PLCs, SCADA, and protective relay experience; NFPA 70E, OSHA 30, or similar.
- Frequent travel with overnights to serve regional and national customers.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
- Strong focus on safety and customer satisfaction.
- Experience using standard test equipment such as multimeters and breaker test sets.
- Sterling, VA regional office.
- Daily/weekly travel across the region to customer sites and internal field service locations.
