Job Summary
The Stockroom Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the efficient operation of the stockroom, ensuring that inventory is managed effectively and that the stockroom environment is organized and conducive to productivity. Duties
- Oversee daily operations of the stockroom, ensuring efficient inventory management and organization.
- Implement effective inventory control processes to minimize losses and optimize stock levels.
- Supervise and train stockroom staff, providing guidance on best practices in inventory management and customer service.
- Coordinate with purchasing to ensure timely replenishment of stock based on sales forecasts and trends.
- Conduct regular audits of inventory to ensure accuracy and compliance with company standards.
- Manage employee orientation and training programs to develop team skills in areas such as cash handling, merchandising, and customer service.
- Utilize retail math for pricing strategies and sales management to maximize profitability.
- Foster a positive work environment through effective communication, team management, and conflict resolution.
- Maintain accurate records related to payroll, bookkeeping, and administrative tasks associated with stockroom operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies within the stockroom.
Requirements
- Proven experience in retail management or a similar supervisory role within a stockroom or warehouse environment.
- Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on time management and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; bilingual or multilingual capabilities are a plus.
- Familiarity with POS systems, inventory management software, and retail math principles.
- Experience in recruiting, interviewing, and employee development is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with a focus on team building and motivation.
- Knowledge of merchandising strategies and effective pricing techniques.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an aptitude for negotiation in vendor relations.
