Stockroom Supervisor

Job Summary
The Stockroom Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the efficient operation of the stockroom, ensuring that inventory is managed effectively and that the stockroom environment is organized and conducive to productivity. This position requires strong leadership skills, a focus on customer service, and the ability to manage a team while maintaining high standards of inventory control and merchandising.

Duties

• Oversee daily operations of the stockroom, ensuring efficient inventory management and organization.
• Implement effective inventory control processes to minimize losses and optimize stock levels.
• Supervise and train stockroom staff, providing guidance on best practices in inventory management and customer service.
• Coordinate with purchasing to ensure timely replenishment of stock based on sales forecasts and trends.
• Conduct regular audits of inventory to ensure accuracy and compliance with company standards.
• Manage employee orientation and training programs to develop team skills in areas such as cash handling, merchandising, and customer service.
• Utilize retail math for pricing strategies and sales management to maximize profitability.
• Foster a positive work environment through effective communication, team management, and conflict resolution.
• Maintain accurate records related to payroll, bookkeeping, and administrative tasks associated with stockroom operations.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies within the stockroom.

Requirements

• Proven experience in retail management or a similar supervisory role within a stockroom or warehouse environment.
• Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on time management and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; bilingual or multilingual capabilities are a plus.
• Familiarity with POS systems, inventory management software, and retail math principles.
• Experience in recruiting, interviewing, and employee development is preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities with a focus on team building and motivation.
• Knowledge of merchandising strategies and effective pricing techniques.
• Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving skills with an aptitude for negotiation in vendor relations.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $16.50 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 20 per week
