Temporary Site Supervisor (Construction)
Location: Town of Gates, NY (Greater Rochester area)
Assignment Length: 6 months, with potential for follow-on short-term projects
Role Summary
Our are hiring a Temporary Site Supervisor (Superintendent-level) to take ownership of on-site operations for an active construction project in the Town of Gates. In this role, you will serve as the primary on-site presence, ensuring construction activities move forward safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans.
This position requires strong leadership, sound decision-making, and the ability to operate independently while representing the company in the field. You will work closely with Project Managers and trade foremen to coordinate work within a fast-paced environment inside an occupied facility.
Core Responsibilities
- Serve as the on-site lead, overseeing daily construction operations
- Coordinate activities between field crews, trade foremen, and project management
- Track job progress and uphold safety and quality standards across all trades
- Review and interpret construction drawings to ensure accurate execution
- Support phased construction efforts in an occupied facility, including:
- Staff relocations
- Protection of existing finishes, furniture, and equipment
- Ensure proper sequencing of work (demolition, installation, finishing, and turnover)
- Provide hands-on assistance when needed (e.g., minor physical tasks or coordination support)
- Supervise approximately 20–30 field personnel on-site
- Communicate clearly with field teams and escalate issues as needed
- Maintain jobsite organization in a fast-moving, dynamic environment
Qualifications
- Strong leadership and construction coordination skills
- Experience working in occupied buildings is highly preferred
- Familiarity with:
- HVAC systems (strongly preferred)
- Multi-trade coordination (electrical, ceilings, lighting, etc.)
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and make real-time decisions
- Excellent communication skills with both field teams and management
- Willingness to take a hands-on approach when required
- Comfortable in a fast-paced and evolving jobsite environment
