Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to join our legal team. Duties
- Assist attorneys with all phases of litigation, including case preparation, discovery, and trial support.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to support case strategies.
- Manage and organize case files using document management systems such as Clio and the Microsoft office suite, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Draft, review, and proofread legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, contracts, and correspondence.
- Review and analyze documents for relevance and privilege during document review processes.
- Coordinate deposition schedules, interviews with clients or witnesses, and court filings while maintaining meticulous records.
- Support project management efforts by tracking deadlines, court dates, and case milestones to ensure timely submissions.
- Assist in preparing trial exhibits, summaries, and reports to facilitate effective courtroom presentations.
- Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, answering phones with professional etiquette, and managing correspondence.
- Collaborate with attorneys on legal research projects across practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, workers’ compensation law, personal injury law, landlord-tenant law, immigration law, and more.
Qualifications
- Proven paralegal experience in a busy law office setting with exposure to litigation cases.
- Strong knowledge of legal research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis.
- Familiarity with legal case management software including clio and Microsoft office.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Exceptional writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence.
- Proficiency in proofreading and transcription to ensure accuracy in all legal materials.
- Experience conducting interviews with clients or witnesses is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of various practice areas such as estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, tribal regulations or patent law is a plus.
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while maintaining high standards of professionalism.
- Strong clerical skills including data entry, filing systems management, phone etiquette, and administrative support functions.
