Position SummaryThe Electrical Service Technician is responsible for running residential service and estimate calls, diagnosing electrical issues, presenting solutions to homeowners, and completing electrical repairs and installations. This role will lead jobs from start to finish, work alongside apprentices and helpers, and ensure each project is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of workmanship.

We value work-life balance, with a typical Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM schedule, weekends off, and no on-call rotation. While occasional longer days may occur, we work hard to give our team time outside of work.
We’re looking for an experienced Lead Electrical Service Technician who can confidently run service calls, troubleshoot, communicate with homeowners, present options, and lead jobs from start to finish.
Compensation: $60,000–$150,000 We offer two compensation options depending on what works best for you:
- Hourly Performance Bonuses — Provides the stability of hourly pay with additional earning opportunities based on performance.
- Commission-Based Pay — A performance-driven structure with uncapped earning potential.

- Run residential service, troubleshooting, and estimate calls
- Diagnose electrical issues and determine appropriate solutions
- Perform repairs, installations, replacements, and upgrades
- Lead jobs from start to finish and work alongside apprentices/helpers
- Plan for materials, specialty parts, permits, and job requirements
- Ensure work meets current electrical code, safety, and company standards
- Clearly explain findings, recommendations, and available options to homeowners
- Prepare and present estimates in a professional, easy-to-understand manner
- Provide honest, courteous service without high-pressure sales tactics
- Treat customers, their homes, and their property with respect
- Represent JD Electrical professionally in appearance, communication, and workmanship
- Follow electrical safety procedures and properly use required PPE
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Safely operate and care for company vehicles, tools, and equipment
- Maintain a driving record that meets company insurance requirements
- Maintain accurate job notes, photos, estimates, and material documentation
- Keep the office updated on job progress, parts, scheduling needs, and customer concerns
- Use Housecall Pro and other required company software
- Complete required job documentation in a timely manner
- At least 1 year of residential electrical service and/or sales experience
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Ability to run residential service calls independently
- Comfortable communicating with homeowners and presenting estimates/options
- Strong customer-service and communication skills
- Ability to lead jobs and work effectively with apprentices/helpers
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of residential electrical work
- Dependable, professional, and team-oriented
- Preferred Colorado Journeyman or Residential Wireman's License
