About the Opportunity
Our client, an established and growing Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) in Northern Virginia, is seeking an experienced Wealth Advisor to join its team.
This is an opportunity for a client-focused advisor to assume responsibility for servicing an existing book of high-net-worth client relationships while also playing an active role in the firm's continued growth. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical wealth management expertise with excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to develop new client relationships.
The successful candidate will have meaningful autonomy and visibility within the organization and will work closely with clients to deliver comprehensive, goals-based financial advice.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for an existing book of high-net-worth clients.
- Develop and maintain deep, long-term relationships with clients and their families.
- Lead client meetings, financial planning discussions, investment reviews, and ongoing relationship management.
- Collaborate with investment, planning, tax, estate, and other internal specialists to deliver a comprehensive wealth management experience.
- Identify additional planning and investment opportunities within existing client relationships.
- Participate in and contribute to the firm's business development strategy.
- Generate new client opportunities through personal networks, centers of influence, referrals, community involvement, and other prospecting activities.
- Conduct prospect meetings and assist with converting qualified prospects into new client relationships.
- Maintain a high standard of client service, communication, documentation, and regulatory compliance.
- Contribute to the continued development of the firm's client service model and overall growth.
Qualifications
Required:
- CFP® certification is required.
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or additional professional designations are a plus.
- 5 years of experience in wealth management, financial planning, or a related advisory role.
- Demonstrated experience working directly with high-net-worth clients.
- Strong understanding of comprehensive financial planning and investment management.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Demonstrated business development or client acquisition experience.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- High degree of professionalism, integrity, and discretion.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an established Wealth Advisor who enjoys both servicing clients and growing relationships. This person should be comfortable taking ownership of an existing book while proactively identifying opportunities to expand the firm's client base.
Candidates coming from an RIA, private wealth management firm, wirehouse, independent broker-dealer, or similar environment will be considered, provided they have strong planning capabilities and a demonstrated commitment to a fiduciary, client-first approach.
The firm is particularly interested in advisors who have a strong local network in the Northern Virginia/DC market and who can leverage existing professional and personal relationships to contribute to future business development.

Salary : $145,000 - $195,000
