Role: Tax Specialist - Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW)

Reports To: Tax Director / Head of Tax
About the Role
JCW is partnered with a family office seeking a highly skilled Tax Specialist to join their team, focusing on ultra-high-net-worth individuals, trusts and estates, and partnership taxation. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional with strong technical expertise and client service skills to work in a collaborative environment and play a key role in managing complex tax matters for sophisticated clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local income tax returns for UHNW individuals, trusts, estates, and partnerships.
- Conduct in-depth tax research and provide guidance on estate, gift, and partnership tax issues.
- Assist in tax planning strategies for UHNW families, including wealth transfer, charitable giving, and succession planning.
- Manage compliance timelines and ensure accuracy in all tax filings.
- Support senior leadership in addressing IRS and state tax inquiries.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor on tax-related matters.
- Collaborate with legal, investment, and financial planning teams to provide integrated client service.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
- 5 years of relevant tax experience, ideally from a public accounting firm or family office environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of UHNW individual tax, trusts and estates, and partnership taxation.
- Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate complex tax concepts clearly and effectively to clients and colleagues.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
