What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Credit position at JCW Group?
JCW is looking to hire a Director of Credit Underwriting to lead a team of senior underwriters at a commercial bank in the Greater NYC area. This role owns staffing, training, and performance management for the team, alongside day-to-day workflow and turnaround times for the underwriting function.
You'll underwrite across CRE, C&I, healthcare, and specialty lending, monitor loan maturities and renewals, and represent the department at Credit Committee - all reporting directly to the Chief Credit Officer.
What you'll bring to the table:
- 10 years of commercial credit experience in a bank or credit union
- 7 years of direct team leadership experience
- Executive presence and ability to function independently in a fast-paced, rapidly expanding environment
- Focus on Digital Innovation and a growth mindset is highly preferred
