Chief Credit Risk Officer (CCRO)
A privately owned bank is seeking a Chief Credit Risk Officer to lead its credit and risk function. This is a hands-on role combining credit leadership with active involvement in underwriting, portfolio oversight, and risk management.
The Role
- Act as senior credit authority with responsibility for approvals and risk oversight
- Remain hands-on in underwriting across CRE and C&I lending
- Serve as a voting member on the credit committee
- Lead and develop a team of 5–6 credit professionals
- Oversee the full loan portfolio, identifying risks and early warning signals
- Provide insight to senior leadership on portfolio performance and risk strategy
- Support development of credit policies, procedures, and systems
Candidate Profile
- Strong experience in commercial banking credit (CRE and C&I)
- Background in underwriting and portfolio risk management
- Leadership or mentoring experience within credit teams
- Likely a Senior Credit Officer, Credit Risk professional, or Portfolio Manager ready to step into a senior role
Salary : $180,000 - $230,000
