About the Role
A leading airline catering company is hiring Cooks for its Pittsburgh-area production kitchen. This is high-volume, fast-paced commercial cooking — you'll prepare hot food items from scratch for domestic flights, working from standard recipes across sauces, proteins, starches, and vegetables. If you've worked in a hotel kitchen, commissary, banquet hall, or high-volume restaurant, this role will feel familiar — and it's a great next step if you're looking to grow under an experienced culinary team.
What You'll Do
Prepare hot food items from raw to finished state, on schedule with kitchen ready times and flight departures
Cook a variety of main course components — sauces, proteins, starches, vegetables — including items with longer prep times
Follow standardized recipes and airline meal specifications precisely
Maintain food quality and consistency to meet client specifications
Work in compliance with FDA and HACCP food safety standards
Support menu presentation and assist other kitchen staff as needed
What You Bring
Solid knife skills and familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment (ovens, steamers, grills, deep fryers)
Ability to read and follow standard recipes and menu specs
Previous experience in a large commercial kitchen — hotel, commissary, or high-volume restaurant — a plus
Understanding of food hygiene, HACCP, and USDA standards
Comfortable on your feet for a full shift, in a kitchen with varying temperatures
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong communication skills and ability to stay composed under pressure
