Pay: $75,000 - $85,000 a year

Full Job Description

Responsible for the alignment of clinical services with our organization's Model of Leadership and Service through program design and development. Provides consultation and education to childcare teams and supervision to counseling staff and interns. Oversees the counseling and neurofeedback department and their interventions to ensure alignment with our Model of Leadership and Service, our vision, mission, and approach, as well as all licensing regulations and COA standards. Provides training to staff related to clinical issues. May provide individual and group counseling, and is responsible for keeping up with current research and program development as it relates to clinical and neurofeedback services to ensure current best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Exhibits appropriate interaction and boundaries with residents.
  • Exhibits regular and punctual attendance.
  • Oversees the Counseling and Neurofeedback Departments and assures alignment of services with residents' Plans of Service and needs.
  • Oversees the Clinical Internship Program and fosters relationships with social work and professional counseling graduate programs across Texas to recruit quality clinical master's-level interns.
  • Provides supervision, training, and guidance to the Neurofeedback Specialist, Clinical Intervention Specialists, and counseling interns as assigned.
  • Plans, prepares, and effectively manages budget requirements for the Neurofeedback and Clinical Intervention Services department.
  • Maintains a progressive orientation and continuously seeks to further develop and improve youth care programming.
  • Assists in the design, implementation, and evaluation of clinical and neurofeedback interventions for identified residents in accordance with appropriate therapeutic practices.
  • Makes clinical diagnoses when necessary to provide appropriate treatment recommendations, including but not limited to interventions, psychotropic medication management, and goal setting.
  • Provides training to staff related to clinical issues and challenges affecting kids in residential care, as requested.
  • Collaborates with staff to assess and refer residents for external contract services, medication reviews, and Plan of Service design.
  • May attend and participate in weekly team meetings for assigned clients/teams.
  • Assists in the design, facilitation, and evaluation of Intensive Team Meetings and helps develop team-centered approaches for residents who are struggling, in collaboration with the Administrator of Intervention and Adventure Services and/or designee.
  • Assists in the design, facilitation, and evaluation of therapeutic group processes as needed.
  • Assists in the implementation and operation of childcare programming in accordance with our organization's Model of Leadership and Service.
  • Provides crisis intervention for residents, including the use of approved verbal and physical intervention techniques and appropriate assessments regarding specific incidents of abuse or potential abuse involving residents.
  • Assists in the design, implementation, and evaluation of therapeutic equine programs as requested.
  • Meets and maintains requirements necessary to uphold appropriate licensing and credentials.
  • May provide administrative on-call duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited university in Social Work, Child Psychology, Counseling, Human Services Administration, or a related field required.
  • Must possess a license from the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners, Texas State Board of Licensed Professional Counselors, Texas State Board of Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, Texas State Board of Psychologists, or similar licensure.
  • Must possess a Supervisory designation from the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners, Texas State Board of Licensed Professional Counselors, Texas State Board of Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, Texas State Board of Psychologists, or similar licensure.
  • Intermediate competency in Microsoft Office for Windows applications (word processing, database, spreadsheet, e-mail, presentation graphics, etc.) required.
  • Proficiency operating general office equipment.
  • Exceptional time management and detail-orientation skills.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements including bending, lifting, grasping, fine hand/eye coordination, pushing/pulling, and prolonged sitting/standing.
  • Valid Texas driver's license required.
