Job Summary
JCS Restoration is seeking a dependable and motivated Shop & Fleet Technician to support our restoration operations. This position plays a critical role in keeping our warehouse, fleet, equipment, and facilities organized, clean, and ready for emergency response. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, and staying busy. The right candidate will take pride in maintaining a clean and organized workspace while helping ensure our field technicians have the equipment and resources needed to provide excellent service to our customers. This role starts as a part-time position with the potential to grow into full-time employment based on performance, reliability, business needs, and overall contribution to the team.
Duties & Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance
- Clean, disinfect, inspect, and prepare drying equipment after each use.
- Perform basic equipment repairs, including replacing cords, plugs, switches, wheels, hoses, and filters.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and report major repairs.
- Organize equipment in designated storage areas.
- Ensure all equipment is clean, functional, and deployment-ready.
- Charge and maintain cordless tool batteries.
Warehouse Operations
- Maintain an organized warehouse and supply rooms.
- Receive deliveries and stock inventory.
- Restock technician supply shelves.
- Perform weekly inventory counts.
- Load and unload equipment and materials.
- Prepare equipment and supplies for upcoming jobs.
- Break down cardboard and dispose of trash and recyclables.
Fleet Maintenance
- Wash and clean company vehicles.
- Inspect fleet vehicles for cleanliness and damage.
- Deliver company vehicles for scheduled maintenance and repairs.
- Pick up parts, equipment, and supplies from local vendors.
- Assist with fueling and maintaining company vehicles.
Facility Maintenance
- Sweep, vacuum, mop, and maintain warehouse and office spaces.
- Empty trash throughout all buildings.
- Clean restrooms, break rooms, and common areas.
- Maintain the exterior yard, dumpster area, and parking lot.
- Keep all workspaces clean, organized, and safe.
Operational Support
- Complete daily shop and warehouse checklists.
- Monitor and complete assigned tasks through Slack.
- Assist field technicians with loading, unloading, and staging equipment.
- Support office staff with miscellaneous projects as needed.
- Help maintain company inventory and organization systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support daily operations.v
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous warehouse, shop, construction, restoration, automotive, or mechanical experience preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to use basic hand and power tools.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks throughout the day.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer and smartphone skills.
- Forklift experience is a plus but not required
Requirements
- Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Must be insurable under the company's vehicle insurance policy.
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work on your feet throughout the day.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to safely operate company vehicles, hand tools, and power tools.
- Successfully pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
Schedule
Typical Schedule:
Monday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Friday: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
This position is expected to work approximately 24 hours per week, with the opportunity for additional hours and transition into a full-time position based on company needs and employee performance.

Pay: $26.09 - $31.42 per hour
