Key Responsibilities
Member Service
- Welcome members and visitors in person and by telephone, providing professional and friendly assistance
- Answer questions regarding electric and fiber services, billing, and account information
- Assist members with service requests, account updates, and payment arrangements
- Educate members on payment options, cooperative programs, and available services
- Receive and process payments including cash, check, credit/debit card, and electronic transactions
- Issue receipts and maintain accurate transaction records
- Balance the daily cash drawer and prepare deposits according to cooperative procedures
- Reconcile discrepancies and report concerns promptly
- Maintain accurate member account records in billing systems
- Assist with billing processes and data entry
- Prepare daily reports and maintain organized office records
- Perform general office duties including filing, mail processing, and document management
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front office area
- Restock office supplies and maintain equipment such as copiers and printers
- Coordinate with internal departments to resolve member issues
- Support cooperative programs, community initiatives, and special projects as needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- One (1) year of customer service, cashiering, reception, or administrative experience preferred
- Experience handling financial transactions and balancing cash drawers is desirable
- Utility or broadband service experience is a plus
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy when handling financial transactions
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a busy office environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Proficiency with computers and office software; ability to learn billing systems
