Job Skills / Requirements
Primary Job Duties:
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings and tracking of new possible candidates.
- Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
- Prepares new-employee files and benefit enrollment packets.
Administer/provide employee support for the benefit plans, including enrollments, changes and terminations. - Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Administer the FMLA, STD, LTD and other leaves of absence.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Execute all employee termination procedures, including advising employees on their rights and any benefits they are entitled to.
- Maintain records of personnel-related data in both paper and the database and ensure all employment requirements are met including ISO personnel related documentation.
- Completes special human resources projects including setting timetables and schedules, conducting research, developing and organizing information; and analyzing time and cost issues; preparing reports.
- Complies with legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
- Assist supervisors in performance management procedures.
- Provide guidance and support to local managers on performance management with the aim of preventing employee concerns.
- Develop employee training and development programs.
- Coordinates the administration of employee safety, occupational health, security, and workers compensation programs; Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations.
Skills:
- Proven experience as an HR coordinator or relevant human resources/administrative position
- Knowledge of human resources processes and best practices
- In-depth understanding of sourcing tools, like resume databases and online communities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- At least two years of human resource management experience.
- SHRM-CP a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
Starting salary range $60,000 to $65,000 per year
