Description

This objective is achieved through the uniform enforcement of state and local laws.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Position may perform establishment of paternity and child support orders, investigative, support payment control, financial monitoring and accounting for child support orders
- Investigating cases in arrears
- Determining and initiating actions judged to be appropriate
- Applying applicable regulations and laws
- Duties include extensive utilization of a statewide Automated Case Tracking System (ACTS) in addition to various other electronic interface computer systems
- Testifying in court proceedings
- Position will be responsible for interviewing clients, contacting employers, initiating court action when necessary to establish paternity and/or support payments, and testifying in court proceedings as to facts gathered.
- Thorough knowledge of the Child Support Enforcement Program and applicable legal proceedings.
- Thorough knowledge of investigative procedures used in the program.
- Skill in operating a computer, including word processing and ability to learn ACTS and other electronic systems.
- Ability to establish rapport and interview, clients, absent parents, and other related sources and to implement investigative procedures.
- Ability to organize, analyze and summarize case information.
- Ability to perform basic math in calculating child support payments.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, absent parents, personnel in other agencies and states, court and law enforcement officials, employers, the public, supervisors and peers.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms.
- Successful candidate must possess a four year college degree or Associates Degree in Business Administration or Paralegal together with one (1) year experience in investigative, eligibility, judiciary or legal work; or a High School Diploma with two (2) years experience in investigative, eligibility, judiciary or legal work. Bilingual preferred.
- If the position requires a degree, you will be required to furnish original transcripts within 30 days of hire date.
- We may require a background check that may include criminal, motor vehicle, sexual offender registry, pre-employment drug screening or others based on job requirements.
