What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinician I -Mental Health position at JCFS Chicago?

The Clinician I will provide direct individual, family, and group therapy to youth & adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities and their families in need of mental health and psychoeducational services and supports.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And Other Characteristics

  • Carries a caseload where services provided include individual, family, and group treatment modalities both in-person and via telehealth platforms.
  • Performs the full range of clinical duties, including the gathering information for the formulation of assessment and treatment plans, and implementation of the treatment for routine and complex cases.
  • Consults and communicates regularly with clients’ service provider teams and/or support network.
  • Formulates understanding of clients’ situations, adapts therapeutic tools and practice to meet clients’ needs, with supervisory consultation.
  • Develops, implements and adapts skills in providing appropriate services, increasing responsibility for the appraisal of the effectiveness of own work through reflection and completion of all outcome measures documentation and treatment plans.
  • Performs record keeping functions and other administrative duties as required by the Agency especially written treatment documentation within the required time frames.
  • Participates in agency staff development programs, professional group seminars, committees or conferences to increase professional knowledge.
  • Collaborates with other agency personnel, supervisor, appropriate specialists or consultants on specific case related problems.
  • Participates in weekly supervision.
  • Participates in Utilization Review.
  • Knowledge of and ability to provide services and billing under Medicaid Rule 132 as a Qualified Mental Health Professional highly desirable, and/or willingness to learn.
  • Represent JCFS and its programs in a positive manner to both internal and external contacts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited program.
  • Knowledge of or experience working with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
  • Two of more years of related work experience.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule required including evening hours.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • This position may occasionally require visits to locations which may or may not be access by public transportation.
  • Reliable transportation

Preferred

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).

Compensation: The minimum compensation for this position is starting at $60,050 annually. Final compensation will be determined based on experience.
