What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Office Coordinator position at JCCA?
Position Summary: To assist Medical/Nursing Department with the day-to-day operations of the Health Center and to assist with ensuring compliance as per regulatory agency guidelines. This position will support all staff who assure our patients get the care they need.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with medical providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate smooth patient care
Assist with the implementation and maintenance of office policies and procedures, ordering supplies, managing facility maintenance
Assist with training and orienting staff to Health Center operations
Oversee the implementation and maintenance of electronic health records (EHR) systems and other practice management software
Monitor, organize, and report data related to medical care of patients to ensure compliance as outlined by regulatory agencies
Coordinate release and forwarding of medical records in response to both agency and non-agency requests
Prepare and coordinate storage of medical records for final discharge
Maintaining medical records in accordance with ACS, NYS and HIPAA guidelines
Provide clerical support to medical/nursing team including answering of telephone, faxing, photo coping, writing and distribution of emails/memos, maintenance of forms, sort and distribute incoming and outgoing mail
Address patient concerns, handling complaints, and providing excellent customer service
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma. Associate or Bachelor degree preferred
BLS certification preferred
Competent in Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Must have outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency to facilitate steady work flow and short turnaround times
Minimum of six months of administrative assistant experience in a fast-paced environment (in healthcare would be a plus)
Effective written and oral communication skills and ability to establish successful working relationship with colleagues, supervisors, and other departments
Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion
Knowledge of medical terminology and Medical billing
Fully understand and maintain policies regarding professional ethics, including appropriate boundaries and patient confidentiality.
Hourly Rate: $30.21
