Job Summary
The Program Coordinator implements our vibrant Enrichment and Inclusion programming, which supports children and adults with disabilities, as well as their family members. This Coordinator also focuses on our teen and adult volunteering, supporting new and veteran volunteers as they participate in programming at the JCC Mid-Westchester. This individual supports successful planning, implementation, and follow-up for weekday and weekend programs. This team member will also support special events, from our arts and culture programs, to organization-wide initiatives. The ideal candidate is responsible, communicative, has strong attention to detail, and loves working with people. The Program Coordinator will report to the Senior Director, Youth Programs.
About Our Programs
Youth Programs: The goals of youth and young adult programming (aged pre-K through 18) are to enrich individuals and families, connect friends, strengthen community, and help people lead joyful lives. Our youth programs at the JCCMW include dance and performing arts, gymnastics, aquatics, STEAM, arts, fitness, and adaptive enrichment for people with disabilities. They are diverse and exciting, and provide opportunities for young learners and athletes to explore, create, challenge themselves, succeed, and spark joy.
Enrichment and Inclusion: Utilizing a foundation of compassion and respect, our programs provide meaningful opportunities to learn, socialize, have fun, and build community.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Implement programming for youth and families, inclusive of advance scheduling, program set up and engagement with adults before, during and after program.
- Collaborate with teaching artists on classes and enrichment programs.
- Research new programming and partnership opportunities.
- Keep strong data records, from attendance to programming details, for use in grant reporting.
- Support select programs day-of, including welcome and registration, room/tech set up, and support and guidance to contracted facilitators and volunteers to ensure program success.
- Communicate regularly with community members through weekly updates, one-on-one outreach, emails, phone, and in-person conversation.
- Collaborate with other departments planning coordinated programming. Liaise with facilities team on event order and room set up; Order and set up food and drink, manage inventory; troubleshoot day-of.
- Conduct scheduling of events and session staff.
- Coordinate volunteer inquiries and placement.
- Maintain program budget documentation. Manage invoices.
- Other duties as assigned by the Senior Director, Youth Programs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job include movement within an office environment. The role requires the ability to write by hand and use a keyboard to perform general office functions. Also requires the ability to communicate by speech and hearing continuously. Visual acuity is needed for detailed work, and computer use. The ability to sit for extended periods of time is also a requirement.

SALARY
$25-$27/hour, 40 hours/week, flexible days Monday-Sunday.
