Security Officer

Responsibilities

• Monitor security cameras and surveillance systems (CCTV) to detect suspicious activity and ensure continuous site security.
• Control access points using advanced access control systems, verifying identities and authorizations of employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors.
• Conduct regular patrols of the premises, including buildings, parking areas, and perimeter fences, to identify potential security breaches or hazards.
• Respond promptly to incidents or emergencies by following established emergency response procedures; provide first aid or CPR when necessary.
• Write detailed incident reports documenting security breaches, accidents, or other noteworthy events with clarity and accuracy.
• Perform background checks on new hires or vendors as part of the onboarding process to ensure compliance with security regulations.
• Manage conflict de-escalation techniques and conflict management strategies to resolve disputes peacefully while maintaining safety.

Requirements

• Proven experience in security roles, law enforcement, military service or related fields preferred.
• Knowledge of physical security measures including CCTV operation, manual handling techniques, and access control systems.
• Ability to perform background checks and conduct thorough screening processes in compliance with regulations.
• Strong observational skills with experience in surveillance technology such as CCTV systems and incident report writing.
• Excellent customer service skills with a professional demeanor; ability to communicate clearly with diverse audiences.
• Physical fitness to perform patrolling duties, heavy lifting tasks, and emergency response actions effectively.
• Familiarity with fire safety protocols and emergency response procedures for various situations including fire alarms or medical emergencies.
