Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse distribution and materials handling, with a strong focus on efficiency and accuracy. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of our shipping and receiving processes, as well as maintaining inventory integrity.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks to load and unload materials safely and efficiently.
- Perform order picking using RF scanners to ensure accurate fulfillment of customer orders.
- Assist in shipping and receiving activities, ensuring all materials are properly documented and tracked within the warehouse management system.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and maintain mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency.
- Handle heavy lifting tasks as required, ensuring all safety protocols are followed during materials handling.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to company policies regarding safety and cleanliness.
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse operations, including forklift operation and heavy equipment handling.
- Familiarity with order picking processes, shipping & receiving protocols, and warehouse management systems.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic maintenance on equipment.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to forklift operation and workplace safety.
- Previous experience as a warehouse supervisor or in a similar leadership role is a plus.
- Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 pounds) consistently throughout the shift.
