Trucking Dispatch/Logistics Coordinator

JC Pallet has an immediate opening for a Trucking Dispatch/Logistics Coordinator at their Bladenboro, NC location. JC Pallet is the trusted source for the best recycled pallets.

The truck dispatch/logistics coordinator will be responsible for scheduling and securing inbound and outbound shipments of raw materials and finished product.

SUMMARY

Responsible for scheduling and securing inbound and outbound shipments of raw materials and finished product.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 

• Schedules inbound & outbound shipments for cores, raw materials, and  finished product.
• Creates and continues a strong working relationship with dedicated truck line vendors.
• Verifies freight charges received by truck lines and processes for payment.
• Works effectively with on-site team members to ensure safe and efficient turns.
• Organizes workload in a manner to meet the demands of internal and external customers.
• Assigns Shipping Instructions to orders and coordinates with pallet yard leaders.
• Completes Ship Log with all pertinent information.
• Maintains all Freight Rates. Also responsible for checking every order to ensure we are covering all of our Freight Cost so that we hit our target freight #’s.
• Efficient use of Excel & Microsoft Office.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate’s degree or 3 or more years’ experience in Logistics.  Previous experience working with trucking logistics is preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively with drivers, customers, vendors, and employees.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to problem involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Salary/Wage: Hourly to be discussed based on experience / Non-exempt role.
