General Labor Lead

Position Overview

JC Construction and Structural Inc. is seeking an experienced and motivated Crew Leader to oversee residential construction projects including decks, retaining walls, foundation work, drainage systems, waterproofing, and general structural repairs.

This position is ideal for someone who can lead a crew in the field, read plans, communicate with homeowners, and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise construction crews on residential job sites
• Coordinate daily tasks and ensure productivity on site
• Build and oversee:
• Decks and patio structures
• Retaining walls
• Foundation repairs and underpinning
• Drainage and waterproofing systems
• Concrete flatwork and general carpentry
• Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and layouts
• Ensure all work meets company quality standards and local building codes
• Operate and oversee use of tools, equipment, and machinery safely
• Communicate with project managers, inspectors, suppliers, and clients
• Train and mentor laborers and newer crew members
• Maintain clean and organized job sites
• Manage material lists and jobsite logistics

Requirements

• 5 years of residential construction experience
• Previous leadership or foreman experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of:
• Deck framing and layout
• Retaining wall systems
• Concrete and foundation work
• Drainage and waterproofing methods
• Ability to read plans and perform accurate measurements
• Experience operating skid steers, mini excavators, and construction equipment is a plus including helical pier machines.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
• Ability to lift heavy materials and work outdoors in various conditions
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• OSHA or safety certifications are a plus

Pay: $25.00 - $45.00 per hour
