CNC Programmer

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Safely conduct all tasks and behaviors and comply with all JBT Machining Safety Policies, including the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, as outlined in the Safety Manual.

• Coordinate with the Estimation department to provide initial reviews of upcoming jobs and provide feedback, as needed, on potential concerns.
• Coordinate with the Engineering department on any special fixture or other engineering needs for upcoming jobs.
• Coordinate tooling and any special tooling needs for upcoming jobs.
• Program, set up, and produce parts on CNC machines according to specifications and within acceptable production requirements.
• Provide front-end reviews of programs before production, to identify potential issues to address and/or improvements to increase efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and assist operators when programming issues impact production and/or quality.
• Complete accurate daily records (date, time, quantities of parts ran, and scrap) for every job worked on, on Shop Travelers and in the ERP system.

• Follow instructions from all JBT Machining documentation, including Shop Traveler, Inspection Sheets, and blueprints.
• Inform the quality control, shift supervisor/ lead person of any problems or concerns with parts.
• Accept responsibility for the quality of products/services provided and perform all required inspections.
• Perform required preventive maintenance on equipment, watch and listen for abnormal conditions, and immediately report any concerns to maintenance and/or shift supervisor/lead.
• Maintain the assigned work area in a clean and orderly manner and comply with all procedures.
• Maintain all required documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Mechanical background and machine operating experience are helpful
• A willingness to learn and be trained on the JBT manufacturing process
• General skills with hand and power tools
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment
• Problem-solving and attention to detail
• The ability to multitask on a wide variety of projects
• Prior CNC Machining , Set-Up Experience and Programming Experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to routinely bend and squat

• Ability to routinely climb stairs, ladders, or platforms
• Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods
• Ability to repetitively grasp
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma/G.E.D. Minimum of 5 years of experience in CNC machining, including setup and programming of CNC machines.

Wage Range: $25.00 - $40.00/hour (depending on experience)

Shift: 1st (Monday-Thursday: 6am-4:30pm, Friday: 6am-11am)
