Purchasing & Packaging Supervisor

Position Summary

The Purchasing & Packaging Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all purchasing and packaging operations within the facility. This role manages procurement of industrial equipment, utilities, and packaging materials; maintains accurate inventory levels; monitors stock movement; and ensures timely delivery of materials. The supervisor leads a team, develops purchasing and packaging procedures, analyzes data to identify trends, and collaborates with multiple departments to support efficient plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

Purchasing & Procurement

• Purchase industrial equipment, utilities, and plant packaging materials
• Work directly with suppliers to place orders, maintain lead times, and negotiate pricing
• Collaborate with internal departments to forecast demand and determine purchasing needs
• Review purchase orders for accuracy and resolve discrepancies
• Monitor delivery schedules to ensure timely receipt of goods
• All other duties as assigned
  
  

Packaging Oversight

• Ensure packaging materials are available to support all production areas
• Maintain stock levels for packaging supplies and coordinate replenishment
• Work with production teams to understand packaging requirements and adjust inventory accordingly
• Implement packaging material control procedures to minimize waste and shortages
  
  

Inventory & Stock Control

• Track inventory movements and maintain accurate records
• Conduct regular physical counts and reconcile discrepancies
• Analyze inventory reports to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
• Support inventory accuracy across all plant areas
  
  

Staff Supervision

• Lead and supervise purchasing and packaging personnel
• Assign tasks, provide training, and conduct performance evaluations
• Ensure team members follow established procedures and safety protocols
• Address and resolve purchasing or packaging‑related issues
  
  

Reporting & Analysis

• Generate purchasing and inventory reports, including stock levels, turnover, and cost analysis
• Present data‑driven insights to improve purchasing and packaging strategies
• Identify trends to optimize stock levels and reduce operational costs
  
  

Compliance & Quality Control

• Ensure adherence to company purchasing, inventory, and packaging policies
• Maintain accurate documentation and records
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to purchasing or packaging materials
