Position Summary

The FSQA Systems Manager is responsible for managing and maintaining all facility-wide food safety and quality assurance documentation, regulatory programs, and compliance records. This role administers and verifies the accuracy of plant HACCP, SSOP, and SQF systems, ensuring the site remains audit-ready for USDA/FSIS inspections, third-party audits, and corporate reviews. The FSQA Systems Manager serves as the subject matter expert for recordkeeping, process verification, and continuous improvement of quality systems while supporting the FSQA leadership team in maintaining JBS’s high standards for food safety and product integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Regulatory & Program Compliance - Maintain and update FSQA systems, including HACCP plans, SSOPs, GMP programs, SQF documentation, and prerequisite programs, to ensure full regulatory compliance.
• Serve as primary contact for USDA/FSIS and third-party audit documentation requests; support on-site audit processes.
• Verify compliance with FSIS regulatory directives, company policies, and customer requirements through regular review of plant programs and records.
• Document Control & Record Management - Administer document control processes for all FSQA-related procedures, training records, and quality assurance metrics.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion, filing, and retention of all food-safety-related forms and logs.
• Manage corrective action documentation and ensure proper follow-up according to company and regulatory standards.
• Data Analysis & Reporting - Compile FSQA performance metrics (non-conformances, audit findings, defect and microbiological trends) and report to leadership for review and improvement planning.
• Monitor process validation data and update trending reports for internal and regulatory use.
• System Verification & Continuous Improvement - Conduct regular system verification and internal audits to always ensure compliance readiness. Support SQF certification maintenance, ensuring alignment with JBS corporate food safety expectations. Partner with operations and QA leadership to implement corrective and preventive actions that improve food safety and quality outcomes.
• Training & Support - Provide system-related training for QA technicians, production supervisors, and other department personnel.
• Act as a resource for employees regarding FSQA systems, programs, and compliance requirements.
• Additional Responsibilities
• Participate in root-cause investigations into quality or food safety incidents.
• Assist the FSQA Manager with customer responses, specification management, and special projects as required.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in food science, Animal Science, Microbiology, or related field required (or equivalent experience in food safety/quality systems).
• Experience: 3–5 years of progressive FSQA experience in meat or food manufacturing, with demonstrated knowledge of HACCP and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with SQF or other GFSI schemes and direct involvement in regulatory audits strongly preferred.
• Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of USDA/FSIS regulations, HACCP principles, GMPs, sanitation, and microbiological principles. Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality management systems; SAP or similar ERP experience a plus.
• Other Competencies: Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage large volumes of documentation accurately. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work cross-functionally with plant operations and compliance teams. Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis capabilities.

 Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Work split between office and production floor environments.
• Exposure to cold, wet, and humid conditions when performing audit verification.
• Must be able to wear required PPE and perform job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
