Role Description

This is a part-time, on-site role for a Mental Health Technician, located in the Greater Birmingham, Alabama area. The Mental Health Technician will be responsible for assisting with the daily care and support of individuals receiving mental health services. Day-to-day tasks include implementing recovery-focused interventions, monitoring clients' well-being, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting therapeutic activities. The technician will work collaboratively with the clinical team to ensure the safety and progress of clients toward their mental health goals.

Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport and effectively engage with clients.
  • Understanding of mental health concepts, emotional and behavioral health issues, and crisis intervention techniques.
  • Ability to perform basic documentation and accurately record observations and interventions.
  • Team collaboration abilities to work effectively with clinical staff and other professionals.
  • Problem-solving skills and adaptability in a dynamic care environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certifications in mental health or human services is preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a mental health or related setting is highly desirable.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in mental health care.
