Marketing Consultant

JBMC Media is hiring a full-time marketing consultant to sell print and digital advertising across our eight publications. You'll be selling to small business owners, CEOs, and marketing leaders who want to grow their businesses by getting in front of our highly engaged audiences. 

This role is perfect for someone who is self-motivated, coachable, and hungry to build a book of business with zero ceiling on what they can earn. What You'll Do

• Prospect and build your own pipeline through cold calling, email, social media, networking, and referrals
• Run discovery meetings to understand what a client actually needs before you present anything
• Present tailored print and digital advertising solutions that solve real business problems
• Own the full sales cycle from first conversation through signed contract
• Keep your CRM updated daily so your pipeline is always accurate
• Grow existing accounts through upsells and strong relationship management
• Stay coachable, ask good questions, and bring your best to every interaction

You're a Fit If You...

• Have 1 years of full-cycle sales experience and know how to run a deal from cold to close
• Are comfortable selling advertising, media, services, or ideas
• Have experience calling on or meeting with CEOs and small business owners
• Generate your own leads consistently 
• Listen to understand, not just to respond. You ask great questions and actually hear the answers
• Thrive with autonomy but also embrace coaching and feedback
• Take a consultative approach to selling instead of pitching 
• Live in Jefferson or Shelby County, or in one of the specific markets we serve: Chelsea, Pelham, Gardendale, West Jefferson County, Hoover, Vestavia Hills, Homewood, Mountain Brook, or North Jefferson County

Bonus Points If You Have...

• A background in media, advertising, or digital marketing
• 3 years in B2B sales
• An existing network in the Birmingham business community

Why This Role

The earning potential here is real. Your commission is 19 percent on cash collected with no cap, which means the more you sell, the more you make. First-year OTE is $80,000 plus, and reps who build momentum early have every opportunity to exceed that. 

You'll also be selling across eight publications, which gives you a lot to work with. Rather than being locked into one product or one audience, you can build the right solution for each client using a full portfolio of print and digital options.

You will work from home and be in the field meeting with current and potential clients. You'll report directly to the publisher and owner of the company. We do want someone who is based in Jefferson or Shelby County. You'll be working directly in the communities these publications serve, so being local to the market matters.
