Job Overview
JBM Offroad is looking for a reliable, personable Counter Salesperson to join our team. We need someone who is comfortable in a fast-paced automotive environment and has a "get it done" attitude. This role is perfect for someone with a background in auto parts or dealership sales who wants to apply their knowledge to the off-road and truck accessory world.
We are looking for a personality that is easy to talk to, professional on the phone, and not afraid to dig into catalogs or websites to find the right solution for a customer.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales & Customer Service: Greet customers warmly at the counter and handle phone inquiries with excellent etiquette.
- Outbound Outreach: Be proactive—don't be afraid to pick up the phone for outbound sales calls and follow-ups.
- Technical Sourcing: Use online catalogs, vendor websites, and internal systems to look up parts and pricing accurately.
- Vendor Negotiation: Communicate with vendors to negotiate better pricing and check stock availability.
- Invoicing & Systems: Enter data into our system, create accurate invoices, and process payments at the Point of Sale (POS).
- Inventory Support: Assist with keeping shelves organized and ensuring inventory documentation is accurate.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous automotive counter sales experience (Auto parts store, dealership, etc.) is required.
- Personality: A great, pleasant personality. You should be easy to talk to and confident when communicating with both customers and vendors.
- Computer Skills: Comfortable using websites, online catalogs, and basic invoicing/POS software.
- Negotiation: Basic negotiation skills to help us get the best deals from suppliers.
- Truck/Off-Road Interest: Experience with Jeeps, trucks, and accessories is a major plus, but we will train the right person on our specific products.
Compensation
- Pay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour (depending on experience).
- Note: This is a basic pay position; we do not offer a health or retirement benefits package at this time.
