About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Bethel Park at Langley AFB, VA.
This is a Temporary position, not to exceed 1 October 2026.
This is a flexible position that is guaranteed 0 hours per week but can be scheduled up to 40 hours per week.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
- Must have practical knowledge of recreational activities, rules and procedures and the ability to handle and safeguard cash.
- Knowledge and skill in the use and maintenance of various recreational equipment and facilities is desirable.
- Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 60 pounds and successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination.
- Requires possession of a valid motor vehicle license.
Responsibilities:
- Performs and/or assists other Bethel Park staff in the operation and maintenance of indoor and outdoor recreation facilities and equipment. Inspects outside areas daily and removes trash and debris from around buildings, park grounds, Paint Ball and FAM CAMP.
- Reports required maintenance or construction needs to supervisor. Inspects facilities and equipment to ensure safe condition, cleanliness and operability. Issues rental equipment and inspects upon return for damage/misuse.
- Performs minor repairs and adjustments to rental equipment upon return. Records damaged equipment and reports to supervisor.
- Sets up recreation areas for scheduled activities; records attendance; takes reservations and payment for special events, etc.; notifies participants of schedule changes; arranges for equipment or tools, charging them out to participants, and checking them for condition on their return.
- Checks the established safety system of indoor and outdoor recreation facilities and areas, tools, and equipment; posts announcements of scheduled activities and answers inquiries about item, place, transportation, or other matters related to activities scheduled; and helps with group activities which require more than one staff monitor, performing specifically assigned tasks.
- Operates automated point of sale terminal. Collects, safeguards and deposits fees received from customers. Assists in conducting inventories and maintaining records.
- Demonstrates basic equipment usage techniques to patrons and ensures that safety rules are adhered to. Performs seasonal maintenance and upkeep of grounds and facilities. As directed, cleans and restocks restrooms. May be required to perform seasonal duties such as raking leaves, end of season boat preparation, etc.
- Required to drive vehicles in performance of daily duties
