JBF Express is a fast-growing transportation and logistics company based in Depew, NY. We operate local routes, OTR lanes, and daily cross-border freight into Canada. We are looking for a detail-oriented Logistics Assistant/Dispatcher to support our drivers, coordinate daily operations, and manage shipment information across our TMS and customs systems.

Key Responsibilities Dispatch & Driver Support

• Dispatch and support local drivers, OTR drivers, and daily cross-border routes into Canada.
• Communicate route details, schedule changes, delays, and customer requirements.
• Monitor driver progress, HOS status, and proactively resolve issues.
  
  
  

Planning & Run Creation

• Create daily runs and load plans for local, regional, and cross-border shipments.
• Enter all shipment details accurately into the Transportation Management System (TMS).
• Coordinate pickup times, delivery appointments, and customer-specific requirements.
  
  
  

Cross-Border Documentation (Canada/U.S.)

• Prepare and submit ACE/ACI eManifests and CBSA customs entries through BorderConnect.
• Verify and manage PARS/PAPS, commercial invoices, bill of lading data, and seal numbers.
• Communicate with customs brokers and address holds, corrections, or inspections.
• Ensure all cross-border compliance standards are met before drivers approach the border.
  
  
  

Customer and Partner Communication

• Provide shipment updates, ETAs, and issue resolution support to customers.
• Work with warehouse staff, drivers, and third-party carriers to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain strong communication and professionalism with all industry partners.
  
  
  

Operational Accuracy & Recordkeeping

• Maintain accurate, timely records for shipments, customs submissions, and dispatch activity.
• Ensure all driver paperwork is completed and properly filed.
• Follow all company SOPs, compliance procedures, and safety protocols.
  
  
  

Qualifications Required:

• Experience in dispatch, transportation, logistics, or a related field.
• Strong communication skills and ability to multitask.
• Comfort using TMS systems and standard office software.
• High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  
  
  

Preferred:

• Experience with BorderConnect, ACE/ACI filing, or CBSA/US Customs processes.
• Knowledge of LTL, OTR, and cross-border operations.
• Understanding of trucking regulations and ELD/HOS compliance.
