What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Foreman position at JBB Packaging LLC?
General Job Function-
Operate production equipment as directed by the production supervisor and/ or management to set up and produce a product that meets or exceeds JBB Packaging specifications. A foreman will use documentation / instructions/ personnel supplied to them to perform each specific job task assigned and will complete those tasks in the safest manner possible while producing a qualified quality product that will be shipped to our customers.
Education and Skills Requirements
· all machine operator education and skills requirements plus:
· ability to work 12 hour shifts plus overtime if required
· ability to lift 50 lbs.
· knowledge of plc controls
· knowledge of all machine operations (starting, stopping, setup, gauge, dials, valves, and other devises that regulate factors related to temperatures, pressures flow of liquids, pump speeds, blender settings, etc.)
Job Responsibilities
1. Prepare work area as needed to operate equipment safely. Follow all safety rules! Be observant of your surroundings. Work safe.
2. Follows work instructions/ documentation instructions as noted to insure accuracy, quality, and safety of the machines or coworkers.
3. Will monitor estimated production and scrap rates and report any discrepancies to the shift supervisor or other parties for resoultion as needed.
4. Coordinates job tasks, setup information, rates, quality issues, pertinent machine settings, and safety issues with coworkers during production and oncoming shifts as needed before leaving machines.
5. Performs safety checks on production machines and any secondary machines as needed or required.
6. Performs all necessary good housekeeping practices at their prodcution machines/ area.
7. Complete all necessary production related paperwork as needed during their shift and turn into their supervisor at shift end on a daily basis. (ex. jha, quality issues, scrap, production, plc settings, material requirements, etc.)
8. Perform any quality checks instructed to them by the shift supervisor or other management.
9. Read and understand all work order requirements. If there is a question, seek answers from the shift supervisor or any appropriate party as necessary.
10. Have all ppe on and be ready to work at shift change.
11. Assist other coworkers as needed.
12. Perform any other tasks assigned by management as required.
13. Attend safety /communication meetings as necessary
14. Be capable of troubleshooting process related problems and making machine adjustments to correct issues as needed or required.
15. Must be thoroughly familiar with all machines and related equipment.
16. Must be able to recognize factors causing quality variations and correct accordingly.
17. Performs color changes/raw material changes as required, while maintaining controls of formulas, recipes, machine settings, etc.
18. Work closely with shift supervisors and coworkers to bring about continuous improvements in production methods.
19. Treats all employees/coworkers with respect and courtesy at all times.
