Structural Steel Welder

We are seeking experienced and detail-oriented Structural Steel Welder to join our team. This role involves the welding, assembly, and installation of steel components for construction projects, ensuring adherence to safety standards and engineering specifications. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, familiarity with blueprint reading, and proficiency in various welding techniques. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects within a dynamic manufacturing environment, contributing to the creation of high-quality steel structures.

Responsibilities

· Perform welding on materials at required position using different welding processes.

· Weld various structural components, including structural plates, beams, etc., in accordance with the supplied structural fabrication drawings.

· Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine weld requirements.

· Operate and maintain welding equipment including and follow welding processes.

· Use hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication machinery to cut, shape, and assemble steel components.

· Utilize rigging and crane operations for lifting and positioning heavy steel parts safely.

· Follow codes & standards during welding processes to ensure quality & compliance.

· Maintain a clean, organized work area while adhering to safety protocols at all times.

· Collaborate with team members and troubleshoot issues as they arise.

· Operate air arc gouger, grinder, and other industry machines, tools, and equipment.

· Identify possible safety hazards, and ensure issues are promptly addressed.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

· Diploma or equivalent; technical training in welding and fabrication preferred.

· Strong knowledge of welding techniques and metalworking tools.

· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.

· Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

· Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.

· Ability to lift and move heavy materials as required.

· Commitment to safety protocols and maintaining a safe working environment.

· Ability to work with a team effectively.

Working Conditions

· Work is performed in a structural steel fabrication shop environment.

· Exposure to noise, dust, and fumes from welding and metalworking processes.

· Use of PPE such as gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection is required.

· Occasional overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.

Physical Requirements

· Occasional lifting of materials and equipment up to 50 pounds.

· Good manual dexterity for precise drafting and detailing work.

· Visual acuity to read and interpret detailed construction plans and blueprints.

Mental Requirements

· Ability to handle stress and meet tight project deadlines.

· Attention to detail and a methodical approach to ensure precision in all tasks.

· Flexibility to shift focus and manage changes in tasks and priorities effectively.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
