Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks to excavate trenches and move materials efficiently.
- Read and interpret blueprints, utility maps, and construction plans to accurately lay out pipe routes and installation points.
- Install underground pipelines for water, sewer, or storm projects following safety standards and project specifications.
- Use pipe lasers and other precision tools to ensure proper alignment and elevation of piping systems.
- Perform concrete finishing tasks related to utility trench backfilling or support structures when necessary.
- Assist with concrete forming, plumbing connections, and other related tasks to support pipeline installation efforts.
Skills
- Proficiency in heavy equipment operation including dozer, loader, backhoe, excavator, forklift, and front loader truck.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and interpreting construction plans for utility projects.
- Experience with pipeline installation processes for water, sewer, storm systems.
- Ability to operate pipe lasers for precise alignment during pipe laying activities.
- Familiarity with concrete forming and finishing techniques relevant to utility trench work.
- Knowledge of construction site safety protocols and best practices for working around underground utilities.
