Job Overview
JBFitzgerald Family Office is seeking a highly experienced, full-charge Bookkeeper to bring all bookkeeping operations fully in-house. This role is ideal for someone who is methodical, fast, detail-obsessed, and deeply experienced in QuickBooks and real-world transaction accounting across real estate, lending, and operating businesses. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in QuickBooks Desktop and financial concepts, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, reporting, and compliance with GAAP standards. This role offers an opportunity to work independently, handle administrative and organization tasks, and contribute to the financial health of our organization. Prior experience in corporate, non-profit, or governmental accounting is highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and journal entries
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP
- Prepare financial statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports in real time
- Conduct account analysis and general ledger reconciliation to ensure data integrity
- Utilize QuickBooks Desktop and affiliated softwares
- Ensure proper documentation of all transactions with double-entry bookkeeping principles
- Handle account reconciliation processes including bank reconciliation and account analysis
- Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and reports
- Stay updated on relevant financial regulations and ensure organizational compliance
Skills
- Proven expertise in QuickBooks Desktop
- Strong understanding of GAAP, double-entry bookkeeping, financial concepts, and public accounting standards
- Experience with balance sheet reconciliation, general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliation
- Ability to perform detailed bank reconciliation and account analysis efficiently
- Excellent skills in financial report writing and presenting complex data clearly
- Proficiency in 10 key typing for data entry accuracy
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple accounts simultaneously
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with internal teams or external auditors
This position requires a highly organized professional with a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and software. The Full Charge Bookkeeper plays a vital role in maintaining the integrity of our financial data while supporting strategic decision-making through accurate reporting. This will be a hybrid-remote position with monthly in-person meetings.
Pay: From $68,500.00 per year
