Duties
- Safely load, unload, and transport furniture using forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment while adhering to OSHA safety regulations
- Assist with order picking and materials handling to ensure accurate fulfillment of customer orders
- Operate RF scanners and warehouse management systems to track inventory movements efficiently
- Use cranes or other mechanical tools for lifting and positioning heavy or bulky furniture items
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to coordinate shipping & receiving activities and ensure timely delivery schedules
- Maintain proper documentation of all load & unload activities, ensuring compliance with safety standards
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment such as forklifts and clamp trucks to guarantee safe operation during furniture movement
Experience
- Prior experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or construction environments preferred
- Proven ability to operate heavy equipment including forklifts, cranes, pallet jacks, and clamp trucks with certification where applicable
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to materials handling and heavy equipment operation
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and order picking processes
- Mechanical knowledge related to equipment maintenance and troubleshooting is a plus
- Experience in warehouse supervision or team coordination is advantageous but not required
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and repetitive tasks; ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
