Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient intake and rooming patients
- Prepare exam rooms for patients. This includes cleaning instruments, and making sure each room is clean and ready for the next patient
- Support physicians with clinical tasks such as performing basic X-ray imaging, and assisting during minor procedures
- Assist physicians in prepping their exam tools and other materials they may need or use
- Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems accurately by documenting patient encounters, updating medical histories, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and tracking treatment plans
- Conduct routine clinical duties including wound dressing changes, taking out stitches, and fitting for orthotics/inserts
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions, offering reassurance, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere in the clinic
Requirements - Willing and able to train, but having any of these skills/ experiences is preferred
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant is a plus! We will train, but any experience in a clinical setting with patient care is preferred.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology
- Familiarity with EHR systems and ICD coding for accurate documentation and billing processes
- Strong communication skills with a focus on patient service excellence
- Be able to work in a fast paced environment. Keeping the physician on time is an absolute must.
