Job Overview
Falley Scout Reservation is seeking a Kitchen Director for seasonal employment running from June 7th - July 19th. We are seeking a Kitchen Director and 2-3 Kitchen staff to assist in preparing meals for our Summer Camp participants, staff and visitors. This role is essential in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently, delivering high-quality food and service to our guests. This position is ideal for an individual working for a School District that may have the Summer off. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry and be committed to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality.

Duties

• Prepare and cook three meals a day using established recipes and standards.
• Supervise kitchen staff during meal preparation and service, ensuring adherence to food safety protocols.
• Assist in menu planning, with Council Program Director taking into consideration dietary restrictions and preferences.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper food handling and storage practices.
• Collaborate with the dietary department to accommodate special dietary needs for guests.
• Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned.
• Participate in training new kitchen staff on food handling techniques and safety practices.
• Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred, with a focus on food service management or culinary roles.
• Familiarity with food handling regulations and safety standards is essential.
• Experience in supervising staff or leading a team is a plus.
• Knowledge of menu planning and dietary needs is beneficial.
