The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the housekeeping staff to ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and guest satisfaction. This role involves inspecting rooms, training staff, managing supplies, and maintaining high hygiene and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Staff Supervision & Training
Assign tasks to room attendants, housemen, and laundry staff.
Train new employees on cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and hotel standards.
Monitor staff performance and provide feedback.
2. Room & Facility Inspections
Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure cleanliness and compliance with hotel standards.
Report maintenance issues to the engineering department.
3. Inventory & Supplies Management
Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, linens, and amenities.
Control costs by minimizing waste and optimizing resource usage.
4. Guest Satisfaction & Complaints
Address guest requests and complaints promptly and professionally.
Ensure VIP rooms and special requests are handled efficiently.
5. Safety & Compliance
Enforce health, safety, brand expectation and sanitation policies.
Ensure proper handling of hazardous materials (e.g., chemicals, sharps).
6. Reporting & Coordination
Maintain logs of cleaned rooms, lost-and-found items, and maintenance reports.
Communicate with front desk and other departments to prioritize room readiness.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent (required).
5 years of housekeeping experience in a hotel/resort (preferred).
Previous supervisory experience is a plus.
Skills:
Strong leadership and time-management abilities.
Attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Basic computer skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand/walk for long hours and lift up to 25 lbs.
