Duties
- Operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission, ensuring safe handling and compliance with all traffic laws
- Drive a variety of freight and container types, including refrigerated containers, flatracks, some Overweights and 20' 40' 45' 53' containers
- Manage route driving schedules to meet delivery deadlines while optimizing fuel efficiency
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to maintain vehicle safety and compliance standards
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, freight details, and delivery documentation
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and route adjustments
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in the ports of ny/nj with truck driving, including delivery driver roles involving freight handling and route management
- Proficiency in operating manual or automatic transmission trucks and handling various container types such as refrigerated containers, flatracks, Overweight containers and handle 20' 40' 45' 53'
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to commercial driving and freight transport
- Strong organizational skills to manage schedules and documentation accurately
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks associated with freight loading/unloading and vehicle inspections
