Due to rapid enrollment growth, Perspectives Academy is immediately seeking a dedicated, empathetic, and proactive Paraprofessional / Classroom Support Specialist to join our team.
In this role, you will work directly alongside classroom educators and clinical staff to provide individualized academic, behavioral, and emotional support to students. Key Responsibilities
- Direct Student Support: Provide one-on-one and small-group academic assistance, helping students engage with daily curriculum and instructional tasks.
- Behavioral Guidance & De-Escalation: Implement individualized behavioral plans, utilizing positive reinforcement, calm consistency, and proven de-escalation strategies.
- Classroom Collaboration: Partner closely with lead educators and intervention specialists to maintain a structured, safe, and positive learning environment.
- Executive Function Coaching: Assist students with daily organization, task initiation, emotional self-regulation, and self-advocacy skills.
- Data & Progress Tracking: Assist with daily student observation, attendance, and behavioral data collection to support individualized student goals.
- Daily Transitions & Supervision: Supervise and guide students during transitions, lunch, specialized activities, and community outings as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Prior experience working with neurodiverse students, including children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, learning differences, or behavioral/emotional challenges.
- Core Competencies:
- Exceptional patience, active listening, and strong relational de-escalation skills.
- Reliable, consistent, and collaborative team mindset.
- Ability to maintain calm composure in high-energy or challenging situations.
- Strong communication skills with students, colleagues, and administration.
- Background Check: Satisfactory completion of standard BCI/FBI background checks.
