ABOUT

Jay Alan Zimmerman’s Incredibly Deaf Musical tells the true story of a composer who loses his home, hearing, and musical identity due to the collapse of the Twin Towers on 9/11, only to discover that the best way to rebuild himself and his life is by turning his battle with deafness... into a musical.

This special anniversary production will feature never-before-seen private footage of ground zero and will be filmed as part of a documentary about Jay’s 20 year adventure in creating this show, to be released on or about September 11th, 2026.

The real Jay is an award-winning deaf creator of musicals (Off-Broadway & Lincoln Center), robot orchestras (Spotify), music visualizers (Google), art installations (Chashama Times Square), deaf music education systems (Teachers College), and his patented hearing visualizer (US Patent Office). He’s been featured in major media throughout the world and can be seen in his musical movie Brain.Storm., in the award-winning Music Magic documentary, and in the History Channel documentary 9/11: I Was There.
