What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Intervention Occupational Therapist position at Jawonio?
Pay: $32 per center based individual session (30 minutes).
$59 per home based individual session (30 minutes)
$70-$100/hour for OT Motor Group session (60 minutes up to 5 students w/aide)
$150 for MDEs, Supplemental Evals, Screenings and CPSE evals
As an Occupational Therapist (Independent Contractor), you will develop and implement treatment plans for each child based on their IFSP goals. The Occupational Therapist will collaborate with all disciplines including PT, Speech, Special Educators/Instructors, service coordinators and program staff towards achieving the established goals for each child.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Plans and provides appropriate therapeutic interventions for EI children with various disabilities based upon individual IFSP outcomes
- Modifies therapy program as needed.
- Documents daily treatment sessions
- Provides records for attendance and billing.
- Communicates with providers and family member about child’s progress.
- Discusses with parents/guardians child’s level of functioning and appropriate therapeutic activities for home.
- Completes biannual progress notes with information from daily sessions.
- Performs and documents MDEs, Supplemental Evals and CPSE evals
- Completes any agency mandatory in-services and keeps up with 10 hours a year of Early Childhood training as per BEI requirements

Qualifications:Education/Experience:
A Bachelor or Master’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program is required.
Skills required:
Reading and interpreting documents for DOH regulations, and IFSPs
Writing documentation for service logs, session notes and progress reports
Speaking effectively with children, other agency professionals and family members.
Having knowledge of MS Word, and Outlook.
Certificates and Licenses:
Valid NYS licensure, NBCOT Certification
CPR certification preferred
Salary : $32 - $150
