MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in cleaning and maintaining premises of contract sites by performing the following duties.
Essential Elements
- Organizes and prioritizes workflow at job sites including main campus and TECH, assigning staff appropriately to routine duties and special projects. Communicates job site needs to manager including supplies, staffing requirements, etc.
- Liaison with customers regarding day to day issues on cleaning contracts, provides periodic follow-up to all customer contacts to ensure satisfaction with services
- Oversees supervisors and the cleaners work, demonstrating work, redirecting, coaching and communicating expectations of how work is to be done.
- Performs a variety of supervisory and leadership functions, including employment, orientation, training and retraining, performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, motivation, and other related employee relation activities.
- Performs quality assurance tasks to ensure job site meets agency and customer expectations and specifications.
- Maintains ongoing communication with Community Employment Services (CES) staff who work with contract cleaners at job site, letting CES know of issues and concerns regarding trainee, etc. Helps CES develop accommodations for contract cleaners as appropriate. Models appropriate work behavior and professional demeanor to subordinate staff.
- Completes documentation required, including payroll, incident reports, disciplinary reports, quality assurance reports, etc., to maintain smooth operation of work sites.
- Performs quality assurance tasks to ensure all job sites meets agency and customer expectations and specifications
- Demonstrates working knowledge of Operations Manual, Safety Procedures (including OSHA, MSDS, etc.), agency policy and procedures, and is able to communicate their contents to workers effectively.
- Follows MSDS Hazardous Communications Policy for all sites and is responsible reporting party to Health and Safety.
- Maintain inventory and ordering of supplies for various sites.
- Arrange for scheduling and coverage for vacation, sick time and holiday time. Processing for payroll and attendance tracking. Is the substitute for supervisors and if needed cleaners at sites for their vacation/sick time.
- Scheduling of periodicals and at times provision of periodicals if necessary.
- On call for emergencies as necessary if specified in contracts – ie. Rockland County RLCMHC contracts.
- Provides training, following special protocols, tailored to the aptitude and ability of the individual involved.
- Maintains safe, orderly work area and work practices
- Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications
BACKGROUND/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: high school; minimum 3 years experience in similar setting, supervisory experience required.
MINIMUM LEARNING TIME: 6 months
INTERRELATIONSHIPS: Continual interaction with customers, managers, cleaners, rehabilitation professionals and consumers; regular contact with professional staff within agency.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Works with chemical cleaning agents daily. May work in softly lit areas, and during off business hours. Continual lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping required in course of duties. Work schedule must meet contract needs and requirements.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Valid driver’s license with record which is acceptable to agency insurance company. This position may require a complete background investigation report. Daily use of vehicle generally agency vehicle at times use of personal vehicle may be required with mileage reimbursed.
Salary : $26
