Program Overview
The Javits Emerging Leaders Program (JELP) is a paid summer internship designed to cultivate the next generation of leaders through hands-on experience, mentorship, and professional development.
Program Dates: June 8 – August 14
Interns will gain real-world experience, contribute to impactful projects, and participate in a structured leadership development program.

Position Summary
The JELP Intern will be an integral member of the Marketing Communications team, contributing to content creation, campaign development, and digital engagement initiatives that shape how the Javits brand is experienced internally and externally. This role is designed to go beyond traditional support—interns will take ownership of meaningful projects that directly impact storytelling, audience engagement, and brand presence.
Through hands-on work, mentorship, and a capstone project, interns will develop in-demand skills in copy writing, content strategy, digital marketing, creative production, and cross-functional collaboration, to empower them to grow as future leaders and confidently take the next step in their careers.
Essential Functions
Core Responsibilities (All Interns):
Support departmental initiatives and daily operations
Collaborate with cross-functional teams
Participate in all JELP programming and events
Contribute to and complete assigned capstone project
Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and initiative
Department-Specific Responsibilities:
Create graphics and social content
Assist with video editing
Monitor engagement metrics
Organize digital content library
Assist with research regarding panels and speaking engagements
Support all branding initiatives for Javits Center’s 40th anniversary
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student (or recent graduate)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred major in Marketing or Communications or Public Relations
Experience with Canva or Adobe tools
Experience with Meltwater, Google Analytics, etc.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Program Requirements
Must be available to work full-time onsite at the Javits Center for the duration of the program.
Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer-sponsored visa support now or in the future.
Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited college or university.
