Large New York/New Jersey law firm seeks experienced paralegal to assist attorneys in medical malpractice cases. At least three (3) years experience required.
Key responsibilities include gathering and organizing medical records, summarizing medical information, coordinating with clients and witnesses, and preparing materials for depositions and trial. This role requires a strong understanding of legal procedures, medical terminology, and meticulous attention to detail. Core responsibilities
Case management: Organize and maintain case files, manage deadlines, and track case progress. Knowledge of case management system such as NEOS, TrialWorks, Needles, FileVine, CloudLex, etc. required.
Document handling: Handle legal documents, pleadings and motions, and organize and manage all case-related documents.
Maintain scheduling calendars.
Knowledge of electronic filing.
Medical record analysis: Obtain medical records through authorizations and subpoenas, review them, and create summaries and chronologies of treatment.
Client and witness coordination: Interview clients and witnesses, and communicate with clients about case developments.
Discovery and trial preparation: Prepare and organize documents for discovery, and assist attorneys by summarizing transcripts and preparing exhibits for trial.
Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
