Director of Compliance

Summary: A long-established trust and financial services firm is looking for a Director of Compliance to lead regulatory oversight and protect both clients and the business. This role balances strategy and execution, with a chance to shape the compliance culture while navigating complex regulations in trust administration, fiduciary oversight, and financial law.

Location & Logistics: Salem, NH

• NH Residents: Hybrid option for NH residents after 90 days (3x onsite; 2x remote)
• MA Residents: 100% onsite 5x weekly ($150 monthly stipend given)

Responsibilities

• Ensure ongoing compliance with financial regulations, including BSA, AML, and fiduciary laws
• Lead the development and monitoring of compliance policies, programs, and training
• Oversee risk assessments and create strategies to mitigate exposure
• Partner with leadership to advise on regulatory requirements tied to business initiatives
• Supervise and mentor a compliance team, building knowledge and accountability
• Represent the firm during audits, regulatory exams, and client discussions
  
  

Qualifications

• CTFA or JD required
• 10 years in trust administration and financial regulatory compliance
• Deep understanding of BSA, AML, and other financial laws and regulations
• Experience managing teams and developing compliance professional
• Strong background in legal or regulatory advisory role
• Comfort with occasional travel to Boston as needed (Estimated 1-3x quarterly)
