Position Summary
Jenkins Plumbing Company is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Warehouse Associate / Valve Assembly Technician to join our Charleston team. This position is responsible for assisting with warehouse operations, organizing and maintaining inventory, receiving and distributing materials, and assembling (soldering) tub and shower valve assemblies for residential plumbing projects.
The ideal candidate will have warehouse experience, basic plumbing knowledge, and experience using soldering equipment. We are looking for someone who takes pride in producing quality work, maintaining an organized workspace, and supporting field operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assemble and solder tub and shower valve assemblies according to company specifications.
- Prepare plumbing materials and components for field installation.
- Receive, inspect, and stock incoming shipments.
- Pull and stage materials for plumbing crews and projects.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts and assist with inventory control.
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment.
- Keep warehouse clean, organized, and safe at all times.
- Operate warehouse equipment and tools safely.
- Assist with deliveries and transportation of materials as needed.
- Communicate material shortages and inventory needs to management.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Previous warehouse experience preferred.
- Experience soldering copper piping and plumbing valves preferred.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing materials and fittings.
- Ability to read work orders and follow assembly instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools and warehouse equipment.
